I keep reading aobut all the different types of dermal fillers out there and I don't have a clue which is the best. Can anyone shed any light on this!! I had a consultation with a doc and they used Juvederm but my mate has her lips done regularly and she thinks they use restylaine or somehting like that. Which is better or should I not really care about the brand?

Hi Kirsty,
First off, be reassured that both Juvederm and Restylane are good brands with a great safety record. They are both hylauronic acid based dermal fillers which means that they are temporary fillers (only last about nine months max) and hyaluronic acid is something we all have in our bodies which means that we tolerate the fillers really well.
As with any injectable treatment, they are very practitioner dependent so the results are only as good as the person who is doing their treatment. Make sure your practitioner has all the necessary training and qualifications and ask questions about their experience. See if they have any before and afters of previous treatments they've carried out.
Good luck!
Best
Katharine
