Thermage is a skin tightening and skin contouring treatment that utilises radiofrequency energy to heat the deep, collagen rich layers of the skin. This heat helps tighten existing collagen and stimulate new collagen production, all of which reduces sagging and improves the smoothness of the skin.
Thermage: Am I suitable?
Thermage can tighten sagging skin on the face, including under the eyes, neck, stomach, arms, hands, thighs and buttocks. It can be used on all skin colours.
Thermage: What do I have to do to prepare?
There is no preparation necessary for a Thermage treatment.
Thermage: What’s the treatment like?
The ThermaTip, which is attached to a handheld device, delivers the radiofrequency energy to the skin. Each time it touches the skin, you’ll feel a brief cooling sensation followed by a deep – but short lived – heating sensation, followed by another cooling sensation. Your practitioner relies on the patient’s feedback to monitor the level of heat sensation so that they can balance comfort with maximum results.
Your Thermage treatment can take from 20 minutes to two hours depending on the area to be treated. For most patients, it needs just one session to get results.
Thermage: What about after?
There is little or no downtime so it is possible to resume normal activities immediately following a Thermage treatment. Results may be immediately noticeable but they will also continue to improve over the next six months as new collagen is produced. The longevity of the results varies depending on how the skin ages.
Thermage: Are there any risks or side effects?
There may be a little redness or swelling on the treatment area but this is temporary.
Thermage: What will it cost me?
Thermage treatments cost from £1,500.
