As we age, gravity starts to work against us as everything – faces, bottoms and breasts – starts to head south. Traditionally, surgery has been the only option to stop the sag but there is the possibility of a breast uplift utilising laser technology.
A surgical breast uplift or mastopexy can deliver good and permanent results but can also leave the patient with a degree of scarring.
Laser breast uplift: Am I suitable?
A laser breast uplift is suitable for women in their thirties that are starting to lose elasticity in their breasts as levels of collagen are depleted or those who have seen the affects of weight loss, pregnancy and breast feeding on their breast shape. This procedure is aimed at younger women with an A to C cup. Your practitioner can decide if a surgical procedure is best for you.
Laser breast uplift: What’s the treatment like?
Removing fat above the breast tissue with SmartLipo also introduces a degree of skin tightening and in that way produces a lift to the breasts.
A small incision is made under the arm that won’t be visible afterwards and then a small amount of local anaesthetic is inserted. The SmartLipo machine has two settings that targets the deep fat first and then the superficial fat under the dermis. At the same time, the laser energy causes skin tightening thorough the process of inflammation and this lifts the breasts.
Laser breast uplift: What about after?
Long-term results are not yet known but it is believed that they should last for a few years unless pregnancy, breast feeding or further weight loss occurs. However, the procedure can be repeated.
Laser breast uplift: Are there any risks or side effects?
The exact same amount of energy is introduced to both breasts to ensure they are lifted equally but it is possible to be left with a degree of asymmetry after the procedure.
Laser breast uplift: What will it cost me?
This procedure will cost approximately £2,000.
